"SIXTEENTH'S" AT WORK

INSPECTED BY THE GOVERNOR

His Excellency' tho Governor, with Brigadier-General Sir A. W. llobin, General Officer Commanding tho New Zealand Forces, and Colonel C. M. Gibbon, Chief of the General Staff, visited Trentham Camp yesterday and inspected the men when engaged in their usual training. The party was met by the Camp Commandant, Licut.-Colonel H. R. Potter, and the Camp Adjutant,' Captain W. M. Bell. . There was no parade. The Sixteenth Infantry Reinforcements were at the rifle range doing some, of tho finer work of their advanced musketry. His Excellency showed, a keen interest in the firing, and remarks were passed concerning tho good physique and soldierly bekring of the men of tho draft, which is considered to be an unusually strong one. Tho Nineteenth Infantry, in squads of about ten men, under N. 0.0.'5, were engaged jn their recruits' courso of musketry at the ranges, situated across tho parade ,ground from tho Sixteenths. These' troops were inspected also. The officers of the Sixteenth Infantry and Engineers Reinforcements woro then mustored in tho Church of England Institute, and the Governor addressed thorn in privato. This inspection of the troops at work took tho placo of tho usual review of the senior Reinforcements in camp.
