PETONE TECHNICAL SCHOOL
There were present at Tuesday's monthly meeting of the Potone Technical School Board, Mr. J'. Castle (chairman),- and Messrs. ' M'Ewan, Coles, Cox, Mejdrum, Uurridge, and M'Keuzie. In his monthly report, tho director (Mr. J. Lynskey)' stated that tlic work of the school was going forward, but the Upper Hutt branch was in a poor position. Tho report recommended that the St. John Ambulance Society be allowod a room to conduct lessons in first aid. The classes would 'bo recognised by the Department, and earn sufficient capitation to cover expenses. At the end of the season ari angoments could bo made for examinations.
Tho balance-shec-t showed that on tho general account there was a bank balance of £371 12s. 2d. The report was adopted, and the suggestions agreed to. In vcspcct to the XJpper Hutt branch, it was decided 1 to close the department down until the war is over.
-Messrs. li. Jones and AY. J. Burk were appointed to the board to represent the local Working Men's Club. Mr. I). S. Jack was appointed instructor to the steam classes.
