Baldwin, Commissioner, presided. xVfter the health of the King had been drunk, Mr. It. J?. Joyce, Provincial Secretary, proposed tlio toast of the evening, "Success to Scouting in Wellington." He said that up to the present 89 patrols had been registered in tlio district, most of them in "Wellington City. Tlie.y had had difficulty in getting officers, owing to so many men having gone to the war, but tlio work had been well carried out, and several new troops had been formed, including 0110 at Day's Bay. The Scouts in Wellington had been of great advantage to the Defenco Department and Patriotic Societies. There wero about 800 in Wellington, and there was 110 reason why that number should not not be increased by' 60 per cent, during tho next twelve months. He was in hopes, 110 added, of being able to see a Boy Scouts' Ambnlancc provided for the front onco the funds were put 011 a proper footing. K-eplying to the "toast, District Commander JlacDonald said that not enough publicity was being given to tho Scout movement. Regular • supplies of information to the Press would contribute largely to their success. More attention should be paid to the matter of transfers and to tho holding of sports and displays. The annual meeting of the Wellington Scoutmasters' Association was then held. Mr. E. S. Baldwin was reelected chairman by acclamation. Mr. F. E. Dornwell was elected secretary, and the committee was appointed as underDistriot Commanders, the lion, secretary, and Messrs. F. E. Godfrey C. 0. Clark, and R. F. Joyce. ~' On the motion of Mr. Joyce, a vote of thanks was carried to the Kolburn Tramway Company for concessions extended to Boy Scouts.
