WELLINGTON-MOUTERE FRUITGROWERS
ANNUAL MEETING. Tho annual meeting of the WellingtonMoutore Fruitgrowers' Association was held on Thursday. There was a good attendance of members. Tho annual report and balance-sheet was submitted by tho secretary and adopted. Mention was made of the good work done by the secretary and committee in connection with tho recent national applo show, the opinion being expressed that had it not been for tlio association it would have been a very difficult matter to have held the show at all. The balance-sheet showed that there were £2 financial members, and after paying all expenses the sum of .£3 3s. was in hand.
Tho following officers were all re- ! elected for tho ensuing year:—President, | llr. T.'W.'Kirk; vice-president, Mr. W. Baldwin; ■ secretary and treasurer, Mr. Or. A. Darvall- committee, Messrs. Anderson, Horn, Porter, and 'Eraser. A 'special vote of thanks was passed to the. secretary, who was presented with a fountain-pen by the members. A discussion took place relative to the Nelson Co-op. Fruit Co., Ltd., in which most of the members'are interested, and which holds its statutory- meeting on August 8. The feeling of the-meeting was/that, whilst a majority, of the directors of the Co-op. Company should reside in Nelson, no fewer than two Wellington men should be on tho board. It was, however, 'eft entirely to tho discretion of the individual members as to how they should vote.
