Under the auspices of the Natives' Association a toucort party, arranged by Mr. Cuiford Bell, gave an entertainment last night at Trentham Camp. The artists were Misses Kutner (3), Cottle, Griffiths, and Corporal Jaiues. Recent visitors to Maliara House,- Waikanae, include Mr. and Mrs. Cooper (Christchureh), Major and Mi's. M'Killop (Porirua), Mr. and Mrs. Ferguson (Hafcombe), Mr. M. P. Webster (Nelson), Mr. H. Lux ford (Ohaupo), Prof. Easterfielci, Mrs. Kennedy, / Mrs. Atcheson, Mr. and Mm. Wayinouth, Mr. and Mrs. Strickland, Mr. and Mrs. Lance George, Mr. and Mrs.'. Melody, Mr. and Mrs. C. Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Scott, Mr. and Mrs. M'AUister, Mr. and Mrs. M'Connel!, Mr. and Mrs. Butcher, Mr. and Mrs. Sanders, Misses Little, M'Gregor, Gyles. Ahern, Joss, George, and Eothwell, all of Wellington; also Jjiout. and Mrs. Talbot, and Lieut, and Mrs, Gray.

On Thursday afternoon, at the month-, ly meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Y.M:CJ.A., Mr. Varney was presented with a handsome leather attache case. In thanking the ladies for their gift and Rood wishes, Mr. .Varney told them that lie would be going to l p rance, via America, and returning by way of Egypt. He would therefore have ranch of interest to tell thoso who had worked' for tho benefit [Of our soldiers. Afternoon tea was .handed around and many good wishes exnrewod to Mr. Varney in regard to hie trip.
