The German aiitliovities liavo prohibited a meeting of tho Stettin Committee, which was recently formed to spread tho idea of a pence, based on Herr von Bethmann Hollweg's proposals for the retention of_ occupied territory in tho East and guarantees regarding Belgium. Copenhagen, August 2. Socialist peace meetings,., which havo been arranged to bo held throughout Germany on tho occasion of tho second war anniversary, have been prohibited, bccause the. speakers refused to allow tho manuscripts of their speeches to be censored. Tho military authorities have suspended publication of tho "Berliner Tageblatt," probably owing to its comments on the prohibition of the various pcace meetings and Socialist gatherings.
