The C. and D. liner Port Elliot (ex Indrabarah) left Napier about 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon for Wellington. She should show up here this afternoon, and Will berth at the King's Wharf. DURHAM FROM LIVERPOOL. From Liverpool, via Australian ports, the F. and S. liner Durham is due iu port to-day. She will berth at the King's Wharf to discharge, and will proceed on to southern ports on Monday. FAKEBA'S OFFICERS. Captain R. S. Lewis is in command of the Shaw-Saviil liner Pakeha, which arrived at Auckland from Montreal on Sunday night. He has associated with him the following officers :-Chief, Mr. H. Falconer, (late Rangatirn); second, Mr. M. A. Gilmonr; third, Mr. W. A. Brcen. Mr. S. Widdrington is chief engineer, Mr. Marmion second. Mr. Gordon third, Mr. -W. M'Cormack fourth, and Mr. A. Jones fifth. Mr. R. Latta is chief refrigerating engineer, and Mr. Jackson second. Mr. L. C. Davis is chief steward, and Mr. Helm wireless operator.
MIvSS-TABLK GOSSIP. Mr. J. Hunter, third engineer of tho Kaituna, signed off that vessel's articles yesterday. Mr, G. M'Kcegan, late of tho Kauri, joined the vessel in his place. Mr. L. Dawson, second engineer of tho Mararoa, has come ashore. Mr. .T/ W. Weir has joined the Manuka as fourth engiucer. Tho Manuka should bo in port from. Lyttelton early this morning, and ayi 11 berth at No. 1 Queen's Wharf. She is fixed to leave for Sydney this evening. An cxpected early arrival tmm Lyttelton to-day is tho Kowhai. Tho vessel loads for New Plymouth, and leaves this evening. The Blackball Coal Company's Ngaherc is due from Greymouth to-day. She is expccted to sail on Friday. The same company's Ngaknta is loading at Greymouth for Lyttelton. The Calm will not be hero from the south until Monday next. She is scheduled to leave for Wangnnui the same day. and will return to Wellington on the Wednesday following, when she will load for Lyttelton, Tirnaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. The Himitangi left last evening for Greymouth, where she "will lor/1 coal for Wanganui. She may not be back in Wellington for some weeks. Bad weather at Dunedin has interfered with the working of the Wimmera. and she has been delayed a day. Consenuently her departure from the Bluff will be on Friday instead of to-day. • Due here on Fridn.v from Sydney, via northern ports, the Westralia has 310 tons of cargo to discharge before leaving for the south the same evening. It is understood, says the Christchurch • "Pre3s," that negotiations are in progress ; for the disposal of the steamer Petone, which is now at Lyttelton. . The vessel will probably be placed in the drv dock within a few days for sighting.- The Petone was recently sold by the Canterbury : Shipping Company to Messrs. John Montgomery and Co., and has since been engaged in the timber trade between Greymouth and Australia. The -weather wa? too boisterous for the Auxiliary scow Echo to leave for the East Coast yesterday. Weather permitting, she will get away to-day. i It is understood that the price paid for j the barquentine sSonorita. which was recently sold to Messrs. Bnpenfeld ahd Cornpony, of Sydney, was £4000. Having cattle on board, the Alexander, was forced to shelter in Picton yesterday. She is expected in this morning, however and. should leave for Xelson and coast ; later in the day.
