It will be remembered that the i Westfield. bound from South Georgia to Chili, ■ nut into Lyttelton a short timo j ago, after passing through a succession of heavy gales, and with her food supplies practically exhausted. After going into dock at Lyttelton and refitting asain, Hie Westfield sailed on June 9 for Tocapilla. When the Kiaru has completed discharge of her Greymouth timber at Wellington sho will bo scut down to Port Chalmers; On account of heavy weather at Westport yesterday it was considered doubt-, ful whether the Komata.. would leave that port for Wellington. The following paragraph which originated in the Sydney "Shipping List," has appeared in several northern pa,pers:— "It is reported that the steamer Dalmore recently purchased by tho Union Company, will load shortly at Calcutta for New Zealand. The vessel, ■it will be remembered, loaded at Lyttelton last year for the Scales Line." This information is not correct, the Union Company stating that the rcssel is at present loading at Java for some Canadian port. Laden with timber, the Kamona is on her way from Greymouth to Adelaide. She loads back at the latter port for New Zealand. During the past year or two the Union Company has disposed of a number of the older vessels of its licet to various buyers, and each time a steamer has left these waters there ha 3 been considerable speculation as to who the purchasers were. According to "Lloyd's Register" supplement, which has just come to hand, the old steamer Hauroto is now the property of tho Hauroto Steamship Company of Shanghai. The Haupiri, which left Wellington last year for Capo Town, is owned by the Sun Shipping Company, London, and the old Manapouri is the property of Mcssys. Moller and Co., of Shanghai. Tho head office staff of. the Commonwealth and Dominion Shipping Line, who have been transferred to Wellington, arrived by last evening's train from, Napier. The staff consists of Messrs. J.
