London, July 31. aeroplane drove off a Zeppelin on the East Coast early this morning- . -. The High Commissioner reports:— London, August 1, 1.50 p.m. "An attack by a number of.theehomy's airships developed on Monday at -midnight. The raiders were first reported crossing to tho coast of the eastern and south-eastern counties. Bombs were dropped off tho Thames Estuary." London, August 1, 3.5 .p.m. "From later particulars, , it appears that the raid was carried out by a considerable number of airships. The raiders appear to have spent some timo cruising over the counties of Lincoln, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge, Essex, Kent and Huntingdon. Bqmlis were dropped indiscriminately over these localities, but with no damage of military import ance. On one spot,-our anti-aircraft guns were brought into action, and it is believed with good effect. Eull details are not yet available." v
