The X.Z. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., report having held a most successful salo of dairy stock, etc., on account of Air. Ohaclcs Hekenui, at the farm, Kirnberley Itoad, Levin. Bidding was brisk throughout, and the herd of 1,5 head averaged £12 6s* 6d.; best cows made £13 to £15 25.. cows, £11 to £12 i&s.; fair cows, to £10 155.; springing heifer©, £8 7s. 6d. to £9 2s. 6d.; small weancr heifers, £2 35.; Holstein bull, £10; sows to farrow, £5 17s. fid. to £6 55.; empty sow, £2 165.; weaner .pigs, 18s.; ■ spring cart gelding, £31. 10s.; dog. cart, £45 10©.; spring dray, £16 10s.; s.f. plough, £10; sundries mado good values. They also sold, on. account of several other \endors, 20 dairy cows, coming to second calf, at prices varying from £8 to £12 12s. 6d.; 18-month empty heifers, £4 05.,6 d.; bull, £5 155.; aged spring-cart gelding; £7,55.; fair hogget©, 20s. to 21s. 2d. Messrs. Levin *and Company, Feilding, reports—During the past, week we held our- yard sales at Bulls and Feilding, a special hogget sale at Sanaon, and Messrs. M-Kelvie, Dalrymple., and : "Wilson Bros.' annual horse sale at Feilding. At Bulls we submitted c, good entry of sheen, and a heavy yarding of- cattle. AH classes of sheep sold well, and prices were slightly 'firmer than, at last sale. The entry of cattle consisted principally of dairy slock, for which there >vas little inquiry, and business was limited. At Feilding we had-.a medium entry of sheep and cattle. Good sound breeding ewes were in good deir.and; fat sheep sold freely, but hoggets were not readily competed for. In cattle all clasps me£ \r&th good competition, all lots selling under the hammer. Fats were in .shor.t supply, and sold in vendors' favour. Store cowa and weaners made good values. lAt our - Sandon hogget sale we had a good offering, -the quality in most cases being good, The sale: opened poorly, but improved,' and wo quitted our entry, exception' of one ipen of culls. Prices were, on the whole,, quite satisfactory to ven« dcrs. Mr. A. E. Eglinton topped tho market with, a pen of good-conditioncd ewe hoggets, \vhch mode 265. lid., Mr. E. T. Sanson closely following with 265. 4d. for a pen of mixed sexes. The attendance at the annual horse sale was not so large as usual. The offering consisted for the most part of 'lighter sorts than usual at this ©ale, and prices were consequently lower. We quote:-»Bu]ls sale: Ewes, r.w. Dalgety . and Co., Ltd., in Mr. II; J". Fagan's yards, nine miles from Feilding, on Thursday nexi. The offering will comprise 7000 mixed hoggets, which are genuine farmers lines that have'been well wintered pn ,turnips in the Sandon district.'and they will be drafted for sexes and sold in lots to suit purchasers. .The sale will commence at 1.30 o'clock shanp, and conveyances will meet north and south trains at Feilding. Jjuricheon will .be provided by the Sandon ladies in aid of the Red. Cross Fund.
