ANTI-CONSCRIPTION , TRADE UNION MANIFESTO. By Telegramr-Press Association—Oojffilht ' (Roc. July 31, 10.20 p.m.) Melbourne, July 31. The Executive Committee of tho Tra'dce Union Congress, which was liold in May, has circulated a manifesto against oon6cription. After referring to the effect nf conscription in Britain and Franco, the manifesto states; "Tho trade unionists will contend with all the powers and resources at their disposal against tho enactment of tho conditions which have been, imposed, under a pretence of our uational salvation, upou tho workers of othor countries." LABOUR NEWSPAPER RAIDED. (Reo\ August 1, 1 a.m.) Melbourne, July 31. Senator Pearce (Acting Prime Minister of Australia) authorised a search of the "Labour Call" nowspaper office, and seized certain anti-conscription leaflets containing seditious statements. The leaflet was subsequently amended. SURVEILLANCE OF ALIENS. ORDER TO HOARDINGHOUSEKEEPERS.
