OUTBREAK ON A. STEAMER.. Two lires occurred in Wellington yesterday, one of which was on a steamer engaged on "special service" at the .King's Wharf, nnd the other in tlio City. Tho one on tho steamer lappencd to bo only a small outbreak in No. 4 hold, amongst the quartermaster's stores, blankets, etc. The City Eire Brigade arrived promptly, and the damago done was very nlight. The woodwork in tho'immediate vicinity of the lire was badly scoichcil mid blackened. At 5.40 a.m. tho brigade received a call to a small outbreak, caused by a defect in tho hearth, in a portion uf tho City Council's old buildings in Brandon Street, occupied by Mr, jr. Edgar, indent agent. Only slight damage was done in this instance also, Mr. Edgar's stock, etc., is insured for £1000 with the Alliance office, and 'ah Australian olfico bus a risk of .£2500,0n the building.
