The Legislative! Council met at 2.30 p.m.. The Hon. A. T. Moginhity withdrew two, questions of which he had given notice in connection with the Dardanelles Commission and Britain's after-the-war industrial and commercial policy* ' VENEREAL DISEASE. '--. The Hon; G. Carson had given notice to move the following motion'.—"That there be laid on the table of the Council a return, showing- the .number of cases of venereal diseaao (distinguishing between' the. various classes- of such disease) treated in -tho military camps of the Dominion since the beginning ot the war, and specifying (a) the number dismissed as incurable and unfit for service, (b) the number now under treatment, (c) the number sent hack from the front as being, unlit for military service owing to having contracted venereal disease, ' and (d) the number bo sent hack who are now -diawing pensions under the' Act.' When called on to do so, howeTOr, h« said that he understood the military authorities did not favour the giving of this information. He disagreed with their view of the matter, but in deference to their opinion would not proceed with the motion. ■ ■MILITARY SERVICE. A new clause for the -Military Service Bill, empowering the authorities to enforce' inoculation: for, typhoid, etc., was introduced by Governor's. Message (as already submitted, to the Lower House).' . Tho clause was agreed to. The Council adjourned at .2,43 p.m.
