For .the sake of the little children of starving Belgium, the school children of the. Wellington district have organised a two days' produce fair, by -means of which they hope to raise, a substantial sura. This effort, which ,is being made at the instancciof the Lord Mayor of London, should make a strong appeal to the public. The fathers .of thousands of these children gave their lives, in a, valiant attempt to withstand thocnormous pressure of the German invaders during thoso dark weeks of August and September of 1914, when every day of grace gained 1 meant so much to Britain, prance, and Europe.' As the stupendous conflict spread and lengthened out over many months tho sense of personal loss suffered by these children of Belgium in those earlier days has been realised by the sad experience of many families in our own as well as in other portion's- of the Empire. But we cannot adequately what Belgium is suffering now. ' Starvation and unuttorablo misery have followed the slaughter and the conquest, and it is for tho amelioration of the pitiful condition of these Belgian children that tho school children are giving their service today and to-morrow. We are sure that the public will- see to, it that t-ho very best possible results are obtained for this praiseworthy cf"fort,,
