Mr. B. G. Burn presided over, last night's meting of tho Karori Borough Council. . , , ' The borough engineer was instructed to have a portion of the footpath on the Main Road attended to, as a complaint had been received that it was in au abominable condition. Councillor Hamilton was appointed to attend the deputation in connection with ..the running of Manawatu trains through to Lambton. All special rates in the borough werefixed to be the same as.lnst year, with the exception of the hospital and charitable aid rates, which will bo advanced on account of the increased asesstuents. The general rates will be advanced froin g 15-32 d. in the-J" to 2-jd. in the £.
