OLD;' MAN BURNED TO DEATH. Tho Masterton police received a telegram from Martinboroiigh on Saturday, stating : that a man aged fifty-four, named Lp.wrenco Kerry, was burnt to death on Friday night through a cottage ho was occupying taking fire. Little, is known of the deceased except from the 'fact.'.that : ho" arrived in Martinboroiigh from. Wellington seven weeks ago, after being employed as a porter for six weeks at tho Wellington Hotel. " A CHILD DROWNED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Gore, July 24. A child named Albert Hamilton Andrew, Sj years of age, was drowned whilst playing on 'the river bank at Mataura yesterday. Tho body has not been recovered.
