TRIAL OF RUA
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 22. To-day was the thirty-eighth day of ltua's trial. Tho police aro now engaged tendering evidence in rebuttal of, state, ments made- by. Maoris in reference chiefly to the firing of tho' first shot and the loss of money from Maungapohatu. So far eighty witnesses havo been examined, and-a number have still to enter Ihe box. It is not anticipated that the trial will conclude before the end of next week.
