FOR THE BELGIAN CHILDREN
MEETING OF SCHOOLMASTER, Tho largest meeting of the Executive Ossimittee set up in connection with the effort by tho schools to raise money for the relief .of the Belgian ctiUren, was held in the Education Board's building yesterday afternoon, Mr. W. Pester piesiding. In . response to an invitation, several chairmen of city and suburban schools were present, and undertook to give all the assistance in their pever to the big: Produce Fair to V.e held'in thoxTown Hall on Thursday and Friday of next week. Reports were made showing tho enthusiasm that was be:-ng dis-. played all over the district, wml thero is now no doubt whatever tl.nt a great* amount of produco.of all kinds will be 'offering next week, though tho st-sson of the year is unpropitious. Tho treasurer reported that the total amount received to date was J:2002 3s. lid. ; It was decided that the goods ojiercd for sale will be arranged m live./ big stalls, and the sale of tho produce will bo-attended to by the teaching staffs of tho City schools. It is. understood that Masterton is going to.mako a very special i effort, and will send a staff down to Well- | ington to see that the very lest results are obtained. Tho Wellington Technical Krhod has asked to bo allowed to hefp, and, as all such help s valuable, that echool is arranging its own special stall .'or the sale of pastry, jams, preserves, sauces, sweets, needlework, and handicraft generally. Extensive "bottle. raids" nro being arranged for in some districts to raise money. All' goods for salo at tho fair must bo delivorcd at the Town Hall on Wednesday next—not before or after that date.
