A MILD SENSATION
THE BRITISH ECONOMIC INQUIRY COMMITTEE. Australian-New Zealand Cable Association. London, July 19. Tie appointment of the "Exclusive Trade Committee" 'has caused astonishment. The Colonial Office explains that the committee is intended to prepare the British caso for an early Imperial Conference. ("Tho Times.'.') (Eec. July 20, 9.10 p.m.) London, July 20. Tho "Times" deplores tho omission ol' the Dominions from the Empire Trade Committee, and reiterates that the proper course was to decide our Imperial policy by consulting tho Dominions before tho Paris Conference. Only public pressure enabled Mr. Hughes to represent the Dominions and tho Empire at tho'Conference. The House of Commons should assert itself to fee that the Dominions avo called in to participate in the subsequent stages of these after-war trado discussions."
