RECRUITS FROM CHATHAM ISLANDS
« FIFTY MEN ANSWER THE CALL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, July 18. Major Bcniau, who was sent by the Government to the Chatham Islands to inspect likely recruits, returned to-day. He said that about 50 men came forward. Their physique was good. Major Bernau loaves to-night for Wellington, and will report the result of his mission to tho Government.
