ANOTHER HORRIFYING STORY TURKISH FIENDS AGAIN Australian-New Zealand Gable Association, s Paris, July 17. Tho special correspondent of the '"Journal," writing from Armenia, gives details of horrible massacres at Kharput. The Turks arrested Armenian intellectuals, bound them together, and shot them in groups of fifty. The last batch revolted in the evening before their martyrdom, and set'fire to the prison, preferring to bo burnt to death to being massacred. The Turkish authorities therefore summoned the pupils from tho Central School and the French Armenian Colleges and assembled thorn in a square at night, whea-e thoy were massacred. The dead find wounded were flung together in an immense diteh, which they had previously been compelled to dig. CHRISTIANS IN LEBANON. London, July 17. A Mussulman, writing to tho •"'Journal de Geneve," protests against tho cruelties practised by the Young Turks against the Christians in Lebanon.. Ho states that 80,000 have died of starvation sinco the beginning of May. Thousands of persons of tho highest Syrian, ijociety have been deported, . .
