Tho vessel left the New South Wales port at 2 p.m. on Thursday last, and experi-' enced in the early part of the journey strong south-caafc winds, with head seas. These conditions continued until Sunday, and the trip was concluded with light southerly winds and smooth setts. Tiro vessel is to leave for Lyttelton this evening, and will return in time to leave for Sydney on Thursday. THE MAITAI FROM 'FRISCO. Tho R.M.S! The Ellerman Line's City of Colombo, sailing "under the auspices of tho A. apd A. Line, arrived in the stream shortly before ten o'clock last night, from New York, via. Panama Canal. The vessel, is of 6000 ton 3 gross, and under tho command of Caiptain Meria. This morning the liner will berth at the Taranaki Street Wharf .to put out the local portion of her cargo ('about 2000 tons), and proceeds afterwards to Auckland aud Australian* porjs. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Rotorua should arrive in Wellington about July 26. The Stormbird is expected to resume her running on Friday next. The C. and C. liner Muritai is not expected from the south until to-morrow. The Karu, after a lengthy overhaul, came off the slijp last evening, and is to leave for. Greymouth about noon to-day. A wireless message received yesterday states that the Victoria is expected to arrive at Auckland at 10 o'clock this morning from Sydney direct. The vessel will be a day .late on the coast, and to make up time will leave here on Saturday evening for Dunedin direct. The Calm was detained by the rain yesterday. She.
