The splendid results of the latest British' successes are reflected in the sepulchral gloom the German Press comment, and the unboundea ecstasy of tEo French nowspapers. Sir Douglas Haip, plodding on with a definite strategic objective, has arrived, so to speak, and the next . combined move in the Franco-British offensive is now at hand. Heroio incidents are many and thrilling! and there is a. detailed account of tho advent of our lances and sabres on the battlefield, where, wo are told, their work was "clean and thorough. Judging frojii the state of mind of- the Germans who happened to bo in tlioir way as they rode'through the cornfields tho' "white arm" has s till somo terrors for the Huns. Seven. German Generals, it is reported, have been dismissed, the reasons, of course, not being stated, but one may judge that the Kaiser at the present timo must be in a very good frame of mind for dismissing whomsoever chances, to cross the field of his angry vision. There, is some movement on the Russian right flank tho Riga, front—but no details are given. Meanwhile tho pressure of tho Russian*masses upon tho long thin German lino of resistance is overwhelmingly strong. Tho Russians have successfuly resumed the offensive in Asia Minor.
