The wives of Canterbury soldiers who ■ are in training at tho camps in the North Island should retain their marriage certificates, states the "Lyttelton ■ Times." An incident that occurred at tho C.D.C. office in Christchurch, ye - ' terday brought to light the fact that married women are in the habit of sending the certificates to their husbands at the camps for identification purposes in ; regard to separation allowance. An applicant had gone into tho C.D.C. office ■yesterday to sign tho papers, and was asked to produce her marriage certificate. "Oh, I havo sent it to my husband at the camp," she replied. "'Well, you will have to senJ for it," was the officer's reply, "as it'is necessary to produce tho certificate for perusal of the Base Records Officer in Christchurcli. The certificates should not be sent to Wellington at all." _ - • Dr. Irene Woodhouse, M.8., Ch.B., of Dunedin, has been appointed 'assistant medical officer to the Sontbland Hospital. Mr. a-nd Mrs. T. J. Thompson, of Hastings, are in Wellington to see their two 6ons, of the Fifteenth Reinforcements.
