The story is told of a staff officer at the War .Office who wa? much annoyed by ono liinil who wanted a job ns messenger at the headquarters. After the sixth ov seventh visit the officer scut -for the mail who hold the position. "Did you see that man, just now, who hus been here so many times?" he asked., "Yes, sir," said the mesenger with a grin "Do von know what he wants?" "Sioi fir." "Well, lie wants_ your job. and'if he nets ill to me again ho will <;et it." The officer never saw the applicant again. "Have yon decided where you will spend voiir vacation?" "Not yet. I've read about a ton of romantic literature describing summer resorts, but all of it is Vitlier too good to be true or too true to be good."
