In view of the lirgent need of new tonnage, the figures published■ in Lloyd's Register Book are instructive. They sliOw that while the output of large net* 1 British stdimers tliis year has beeh small, between 50 and 60 British trawlers liavo been built. Twenty-three British steamers of over 1000 tons appear in the book as having been built this ycur, namely:— Tons. A few steamers of moderate size arc shown to have been completed in Sweden and Holland. 111 Spain, the Igoiz Memli, of 4GIS tons, has been completed at Bilbao.
