JUDGMENT SUMMONSES. Judgment summons cnsos were dealt with as under:—R. .1. Potts was ordered to pay the D.I.C. the sum of £3 18s. Bd. on or before July 27, in default three days' imprisonment; 'i'e Heu Ecu Tukino

was ordered to pay Robert Thompson Batloy tho sum of .£l2 9s. Bd. on or before July 27, in default to serve ten days in gaol; E. Holmes was ordered to pay tho llawbe's Bay Farmers' Co-operative Association,' Ltd., tho sum of £2 ]ss. 7d. on. or before ,7 uly 27, tho alternative being fixed at 48 hours' imprisonment. 'POLICE CASES. Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.AI., dealt with tho police cases at the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning. Five first offenders for insobriety were convicted and discharged. For the same offence a Hindu named liana Bagoon was fined 205., or in dofault three days' imprisonment; and Frank Flynn, a like offender, was fined 10s., or 'IS hours. For inebriety and the violation of his prohibition order, Joseph William George- ■ son, who has several aliases, was fined :-10s. in each case, or seven days' imprisonment. David Scurr was found in a stole of intoxication while in charge of an express, and was fined <£2, or seven days' imprisonment. The story of the police was that Scurr had endangered his own life and the lives of others whilo driving on the Island Bay road. 1 Albert llainsfovd Hiislem was charged with the theft of a cask of vinegnr, valued at J;1 165., the property of Sharland and Co., Ltd. On the application of Mr. H. F. O'Leary tho case was remanded till Monday next, bail being allowed, «£2. r i on his recognisance and one surety of .£25. Arthur Doughty, alias Herbert, was remanded for a week on a charge of stealing a suit case and its contents, valued at J2ll ss. 6d., the property of Roderick M'Callum. MAINTENANCE CASE. A soldier named John Percival Gray, who appeared in court in uniform, was charged with failing to provide adequately for his wife, who lived in Auckland. The' case was remanded to the northern city to be heard on July 17.
