WAIHI HEBFS GIGANTIC. The mine manager of the Waihi ReefsGigantic Consolidation, Ltd., reports for the week ending July 8 as under"Driving in No. 2 shaft has been continued in north face at 300 feet level, and the total driven to (Kite at this point in a due northerly direction is 101 feet. Seven additional feet .were driven at Tight angles as <1 crosscut into v/est, irall of reef system to test values; and at 100 feet north we are crosscutting into east' wall and have progressed four feet, thus making total driven on north side 112 feet-. Up to about 90 feet the reef was strongly aclihixl and quartz light in colour, but from that measurement forward sdark rubbly quartz came in from west side, and with it a little water. I decided to cut into east wall a few feet in case main body had been • forced in that direction,. but the face due north will be continued without much delay. The change - has brought in more mineral, and it is important to keep drive going north towards the centre of property. Tile exceedingly wet season has caused a little additional water in shaft, but this is easily overcome by occasional, baling."
