OVERSEA CLUB'S "SMOKES "

CABLEGRAM FROM LONDON. In May last The Dominion published extracts from many New Zonlano soldiers' postcards ' acknowledging with gratitude the tolacco and cigarettes which had been forwarded them as a Christmas ottering through the medium of "The DoiiiNioji Tobacco Fund." In several of the cards, which are still in our possession, comment was made-upon the quality of tho "smokes" supplied through the Overseas' Club Fund, which did not find favour with the men. A copy of the paper has evidently reached the London headquarters of tho club, which has cabled to Captain Barclay as follows:— . "Overseas Fund smokes to Anzacs are Australian-made "Havciock." Please givo widest publicity." It should bo mentioned that the brand mentioned in the cablegram was not the one complained about by tho men.
