DELUGE OF AMENDMENTS. Rumour, which seems to be mow than usually well founded, state that there will bo practically a deluge'of amendments to the Finance Bill when the Committee stage is reached. Thanks to the abs.enco of several prominent Ministers tfirongh influenza and public bnsines3 the House has been given full liberty tg discuss the Finance Bill on the second reading,, so as not to unduly hasten the committee stage of the measure. Special points urged strongly upon the Minister of Finance during the second reading debate, and whioh will be raised again in the Committee stage, deal with the provision for a board of referees to hear appeals, with equitable exemption for the young professional man, and wrth lightening the pressure of the taxation upon expanding business.
