' The "Times" New York correspondent States that one of the Hearst newspapers has published an interview with Hcrr von Bethmann-Hollweg reviling President Wilson's policy, and comparing the American Declaration of Independence with the Declaration of London "which America allowed Eugljyid to tear up, although the Powers had fixed their John Hancocks to it." : This is an allusion to General Hancock, the first signatory to tho .Declaration of Independence. Hcrr von BethMiann Hollweg addil: "Germany and neutral Europe have almost surrendered the 'hope that America is championing the 6&cred cause of freedom on God s ceeans.""-
