HONEY CROP PROSPECTS
The Director of the Horticulture Division' of the Department of Agriculture lias received from tlio Apiary Instructors .the following : reports concerning honey crop prospects:— "Auckland.—The weather up "to the middle of Jun& was very mild, and the bees were flying'daily, ft] soma parts gathering a little nectar from such- trees as black wattlo and some species of the gum. Since, however, it has changed, and during the latter part of Inst month and this month has been'very wet . and cold. Prices . aro unchanged.' Beeswax is iii demand at In. s<l. lb. .'^Wellington.—Practically nil tho lioney crop has been disposed of to, advantage. War and the Jtoney Producers' Association combined havo. materially assisted to;liardeii prices. Indications are for a good return next season. . Christchnrch.—Tho -recent hca?y lains have got well dowa in the subsoil, mak-. ing tho prospects more hopeful frr the coming season. The market is very bare of honey, and good prices ar.e offering for choice table quality. Dunedin.—Conditions are .unaltered. Practically all availnblo. stocks have been sent forward. Prices are firm. Sections are realising up to 9s. per dozen. ' Pat. honey is in: strong demand, half-pound pats 9d. lb., lb. pats Bd. Bulk honey, 4Jd. to sd„ according to, quality. Beeswax: A slight decline has taken place, and market rates now ruling, are Is. 3d. to li.-4d.-per lb.
