BOWLING
THOItNDON CLUB ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Thorndo* Bowling Club was held last evening. Colopel R. J. Collins, C.M.G., presiding. ' The president, ill moving the adoption of the .annual report and balancc-sheet (a precis of which has been published), thanked of the members, who had been working very hard oil tho grooii3 and had thereby helped to save money which would Lava otherwise been paid out in wages, and which had helped to put the club in its present fairly good financial position. He concluded by making a few sympathetic remarks on behalf of all present to the fathers who had had sons killed at the front, namely, Messrs. Eonaldson and Hogbon. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President. Mr. G. Hogbon, C.M.G.; vice-president, Jl'r. J. J. Gamble; treasurer, Mr. C. E. Chii'.U'Y; secretary, Mr. jP. >C. Hatch; directors, Mossrs. T. S. ftonaldson, D. Boss, P. Myers, J. Conttn, H. Uphani; delegate to the Wellington Centre Committee, Mr. N. Dimock. A ballot resulted in Mr.' H. D. Thomson being elected sole selector for the matches. V A motion was carried: "That it bo a recommendation to ' tho Wellington Centre that the next Wellington Centre tournament be played between Christ: mas and ]\ T ew Year, so as to give as much time as possible, bet.weon that niAtch and tho Dominion tournament, whioh is being held at Wellington in January."
