THE KAKAHI TRAGEDY
CORONER'S INQUIRY CONTINUED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Taumarunui, July 10. The adjourned inquiry .into tlio Kakalii tragedy was held this afternoon. Mrs. Jeffrey bad so far recovered as to be able to give evidence lying in bed in the hospital. Her evidence was similar to the statement she made to Constable Baker. She said she saw her husband's letter on the table after the tragedy, but tried to read it with ono eye closwl, and was dazed and unable to rend it. Early this morning a third victim of tlio tragedy died in the hospital, namely, Neal Jeffrey, aged four. He 'had a badly-fractured. skull. Evidence as to identification was taken, and the inquest was further adjourned.. The other victims are improving.
