ANGLICAN SYNOD

, '. YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS. The Diocesan Anglican Synod continued its annual session yesterday. Bishop Sprott presided. Synoa resolved on the motion of theRev. A. M. Johnson :"That the reference from General Synod as to the proposed alteration of the basis of Church franchise be brought before all annual meetings of parishes and parochial districts, and that the decisions arrived at be brought before noxt session of Synod." { -The Rev. W. G. Williams moved: "That this Synod recognises the valuable services rendered by the British and Foreign Bible Society to all branches of the Christian Church, and oommends its work to the consideration and support of tluj Church in this diocese." The motion was carried. The Rev. A. L. Hansell moved: "That this Synod commends to the earnest and sympathetic consideration of the churchpeople of tho diocese the good work being done by the Boys' Home Society, and asks them so to augment its Homo Extension Fund by liberal' gifts of land and money as to enable.it to rescue from soro temptation and privation many more of the boys who' so sadly need its aid." The mover suggested that all 6hould contribute before leaving the rooni, and that members of the Church, besides making sacrifices for ' the cause while alive, should see that somo of the money left by'them on their death should be willed to the fund. Synod passed the motion.

Ou tho motion of Sir. J. A. Austin il; was Tesolved: "That in order to onsuro the prompt payment of vicars' stinends it bo a request to the treasurers of all parishes and parochial districts to so arrange that all moneys upon which stipends depend shall be collectcd and in their hands not later than the 20th day ot the month, in which such stipends become due, and forwarded to the Diocesan Treasurer on or before the 25th of tho said month."
