FUTILE AIR-RAID ON KENT
ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS AT WORK. The High Commissioner reports:— London, July 9, 8.20 p.m. "A German air raid on the coast of Kent was attempted to-day. One aeroplane was engaged. The enemy fled from our anti-aircraft guns, which were firing rounds at long range." LATER DETAILS. London, July 10, 2.25 a.m. "Shortly bofore midnight on Sunday, the enemy's aeroplanes visited tho southeast coast of England and dropped about live bombs. No damage has been reported up to the present. "Our anti-aircraft guns attacked tho raiding machines, but details of the results are not available at present,".
