THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for strong northwest winds, hacking to south-westerly. Expect cold and unsettled weather with fitTn generally and snow ori higher lovels in tho south. Tho barometer has a falling tendency, but is likely to riso in the south in about 24 houTs. . Cold, squally aid showery weather conditions prevailed on Saturday, but a'ternporary improvement in tho weather followed on Sunday. Tho skies have been dull to overcast, and rain is reported, to-day in many parts of the Dominion. Barometric pressure has been very unsteady. D. O. BATES. Meteorological Office, Wellington.
