WALKING STICKS FOR WOUNDED SOLDIERS
Mr. I. Cassidy, liftman at the Government Insurance Office, who set out to obtain by small contributions 1000 walking sticks for use by New Zealand wounded soldiers in hospital in Egypt, France, and Engfand, has succeeded, and is now hopeful of making tho .total 5000. He has been appointed to collect 011 behalf of tho Red Cross in tho Government, offices. :Up to ' the present ho. has obtained over =£70, but has yet several offices to visit. 111 .the Printing Office!.hemot with a vorv liberal response, particularly among the young women, and he wishes to thank Messrs. Burns, Millar, Craig, and the Government"Printer' for their help. Mr. Cassidy would be pleased' if those having walking sticks which they do not use would leave their ad-" dresses or would send them to him to forward to the military patients. ' "
