PLEA' FOR A LITTLE PIECE OF BRITAIN. Speaking to tho Bill, Lord Selborne (President of tho Board of Agriculture) said that Sir Douglas Haig had questioned every man of several divisions in Franco whether ho contemplated setting upon the land after tho war, and the number of definite assents was far larger than had been anticipated. ~ "It was all very well," said tho speaker, "to tell our soldiers that thoy could go to Australia, Now Zealajid, and Canada, but their own country ought to provide ex-soldiers with land that they had helped to save."
