In the courso of tho evening she read a piece, "Royal Portraits from Across the Channel," the latter expression meaning England. It was a sketch of King Georgo and of his father. Mademoiselle du Bosson also sang a piece, and was the lifo of a little comedy, which she performed with the assistance of Mr. Harrison. A piano solo was given by Mrs. M'Cartie, a 6ong by Mr. Cooke, and a recitation by Miss Allan. In tho absence of the president, Miss Van Staveren, a vice-presi-dont, presided.
