The "Daily Telegraph's" Peking correspondent has beeu granted the first interview with Li Yuan Hung (the now President of the Chinese Republic), who ho describes as "the apotheosis of the democratic movement." He said that all former titles wero being abolished, and the palaces wero lioing converted into museums. A Presidential mansion is being erected. Li Yuan Hung believes that wholesale reform will be possible with the assistance of friendly nations.
