A GREAT TRADE FAIR
. .TO BE HELD IN LONDON. Arrangements are well in hand for the holding of a great trade fair in London, either next spring or as quickly as pos-sible-after the declaration of. peace. Preparations are now well in hand, and it is considered certain that the fair will be on a larger and more comprehensive scale than ever before in tile world's history, outrivalling tho -world-famous enemy Leipzig fair. Whilst every eifort will be made to attract buyers from all parts of tho world, the exhibits will bo confined to products of the' Empire. To house thein, a maguiiioent and permanent Palace of Industry is to be erected. It will bo three and a half times the size of London's present largest-exhibi-tion building, Olympia, and will contain accommodation for tho many thousands of oxhibits of all trades which the importance and vast possibilities of the fair will bring together. Exhibitors will come under the following sections:—l. Piece goods, clothing, drapery, hosiery, lace and millinery section. & Leather, leather goods, and travelling requisite section. ;). House furnishing and- hardware, section. 4. Printing, lithography, stationary ajid bookbinding sootipn. fi. Office and school requisite Bection. .6. Chemist, druggist, surgical, optical, and photographic section. 7. Silver, electroplato and jewellery section. S. China, pottery, and glass section. 9. Machinery and power section. 10. Building and sanitary section. 11. Lighting,, heating, and cooking section. 12. Grocery, provision, .tobacconists and licensed victuallers' section. 13. Music, section. 14. Sports and toy section. 15. Commercial vohicle section. 16. Agricultural, horticultural, and dairy section. It ,is stated that space has already ' been' booked by. leading, firms in sufficiently varied branches of industry to ensure a thoroughly representative exhibition. The importance .of the fair has been recognised by the Egyptian Government, which has taken two largo blocks for the exhibition of tho chief products —raw and manufactured—of the country. Negotiations are in progress with other Governments of 'the Empire.' ' The Industries of the Empire Fair will be unique in that it will - be the first trade fair organised on- a i-o-operi.tive basis, exhibitors sharing in the profits, whilo their liability will be insured to the nominal amount of their exhibiting space at 2s. 6d. per square foot. Orders for space should be mailed or cabled ifamediately in order to secure a prominent position. The fair will bo oxteusively ■ advertised, not only throughout the British Empire, but in all foreign boyiiig countries. - Foreign and colonial ag'ci;ts are also being appointed lo further the success of tho fair and the efforts of the exhibitors. l f nll particulars and plans of the fair may be obtained of the organising secretary, tho Industries of tho Em. pice Fair, - Administration Offices, Lincoln House, High Holborn, London, W.C.
