Cable Association. • London, July 2: The Agricultural Department's committee reports that it is estimated that a third of tlie agricultural labourers— namely. 30,000—has enlisted. The oom.mifjee sives a : warning that'. something imperative must "he done to swell the ranks of agricultural labour, or otherwise to maintain production. It recommends Government' measures ensuring the prosperity of agriculture, and enabling the payment of a minimum wage.
