CHARGE OF MANSLAUGHTER
SEQUEL TO TAONUI CROSSING FATALITY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston N., July J. The inquest on Mr. Gowdoy and his wife, the victims of the Taonui. crossing .fatality, was held this morning before the Magistrate, Mr. Foynton. A. verdict was returned of manslaughter against Thomas Stanley Madge, tho driver of tho car which collided with the train. Madge was arrested and charged. He pleaded not guilty, and was committed for trial, bail being allowed. The Coroner found that neither the driver nor tho guard of tho train wns in anv way blnmable.
