TECHNICAL EDUCATION
A meeting of the .Wellington Technical Education Board was hold last evening, Mr. G.' Frost, presiding. The finances, which were discussed in committee, were confirmed in open mooting. ' • A' hearty; welcome was Mr. L. R. Pai'tridge, who had been elected to the vacancy caused by the chairman, Mr. D. Hobertson, resigning at the last .meeting of tho board, on account of illhnalth. A letter was received from the Royal New Zealand. Society for the Health of Women and Children arid tho War lie. lief Association of AVellington, thanking the hoard for the help which had been accorded in, connection with, the sewing of articles of clothing by the college pupils for the association's distribution. Owing to Friday being a business night, it was resolved that the future meetings of the board take place on the evening of the first Tuesday in each month. Children's Day (July 10) was the sub. iect of a letter from the Education Boar*. It xv M desired that the pupils of .the college, should assist in street sales, etc., on that day, tho funds to go towards relieving starving Belgian children. As July 10 falls du,ring the midwinter vacation it was decided that a collection bo taknn in the schoois 'before tho vacation, and that as much help as possiblo should be given the Executive Committee bj Mr. La Trobe and pupils on the day.
