By the undermentioned figures it will be seen that whilst the working expenses for May in connection with the production of electrical energy for lighting in-creased-by £71,' compared with the figures for the corresponding month of last year, the revenue increased .£1978, which indicates at a glance the increasing popularity of electrioity as an illu.minant. Whilst in May last year 547,7G1 units were sold, the sale for last month amounted to 4<i1,7il units, an increase of 113,983 units.
