A meeting of tho Society for. the Provontion of Cruelty to Aninuils was held last ovening, Mr. Meadowcroft presiding, Inspector. Henry Toported thiyt ho had successfully dealt with eleven cases of cruelty and had proceeded against two men at tho Hutt for cruelty, and ono man at Berhampore. Subscriptions wore acknowledged as under:—Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Smith, .£1 10s.; Messrs. P. Macassey and F. Meadowcroft, .£2 .Is.; Mr.. J. Hislop, ;09. 6:1.; Dr. J. H. Kemp, 10s.; Mr A. H.
