THE WEATHER
FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for southerly breezes, "veering by "west to freshening northerlies. Expect • cool and fair to cloudy weather generally, but unsettled conditions soon on tho West Coast and southern districts of the South Island. Barometer rising temporarily in the. north, but falling everywhere in about twenty-four hours. ■Atmospheric pressure has increased everywhere, with cold and changeable conditions, but improving to-day.
