QTAKI ARRIVES HOME. After a passage of 46 days.from Wellington the liner Otakl arrived at Plymouth on Thursday last. The Otolti left Wellington on May 6. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Mr. L. Oaldwell, assistant purser of the Manuka, is to leave the vessel on arrival at Sydney tlus week, and his place will bo taken by Mr. 11. (Hassan, who proceeded to Sydney last lvecli an a DasHunger on the Manuka. Mr. D. Wylcs, wireloss operator of the Maori, has come ashore from that vessel owing to sickness. Mr. D. .T. Forsyth is relieving him. ■ Mr. 11. A. Reed, second engineer of tho Ivahika, has signed oft that vessel. Ma'. C. Smith has signed on as third engineer. The Rosamond is expected to leave Onehunga at daylight this morning for Wellington. Sho should snow up litre on Thursday, and will be dispatched for Dunedin the same day. Leaving Duncdin to-day, the Kini will come on to Wellington, via Oamn.ru and Timaru. She is dim here on Friday, ana will leave tho same day for Neloon and tho coast. ' ' • . . The Paloona arrived at Bluff from Melbourne yesterday. She has 728 tons of cargo on board for Wellington, and is duo here on Friday, leaving the following day for Melbourne direct.'. Messrs. HaLrick and Co. announce that the Taituti is due in Wellington on Wednesday with a load of buttor from New Plymouth. She will leave with general cargo for Waitara the following day. The Defender, owing to her late arrival from the coaet, will not get away for Picton and West Coast ports until tomorrow. Tho F. and S. liner Middlesex is due back at this port from south on Monday next. The collier Ngakuta arrived ftom Greymouth yesterday morning, after a quick piece of work. The vessel left here on Friday afternoon, and arrived at Greymouth at 3 p.m. on Saturday. She was fully loaded before midnight, and left again for Wellington ou Sunday morning, arriving as stated at 10 o'clock yesterday morning. The Ngakuta returns to the coast, to-day to load back for Wellington. From southern ports the John is expected to show up on Friday. She will proceed on to Wanganui the same day. The Shaw-Savill liner Kia Ora arrived at Wanganni on Sunday from Liverpool, via Australian ports. Advice received yesterday stated tthat cargo- operations had been considerably delayed owing to bad weather. Captain It. Owen arrived, from Sydney by the Moeraki and, proceeds to Wangonui this morning, to take command of the barquentiiie Wanganui, which is loading timber for Sydney. The G. and D. liners Muritai and Star of Australia arrived at Auckland within .half an hour of each other ycstcrdjty ■ morning from Sydney. The former vessel comes from New York, and' tho Star of Australia is from London. Both liiisre are expected here at tho end of tho week.
