AUSTRIAN CORPS HEMMED IN METHODICAL ADVANCE OF THE ITALIANS (By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright). London, June 23. The "Daily Telegraph's" correspondent at Komo states that the pressure by the Austrians on the plateau of Asiago has diminished, owing to the critical situation of an Austrian army corps, which is hemmed in on three sides. The Italian advance continues methodically on the whole front between the Adige and the Brenta. BIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORTS. The High Commissioner reports:— London, .Tune 23, 2 p.m. "At Vallarsa, the Italians occupied new positions cast of the Mezzana Peak and on the Lora Spur. "On the Posina-Astico front there have been artillery actions, the enemy's attacks on Campiglia and Mount Spin being _ repulsed. "On the Asisigo Plateau the Italians continue to maintain the pressure. "At Carnia and on the Isonzo there have been active artillery actions, explosions and fires being caused at several points in the enemy's lines." London, June 24, 4 p.m. "In the Pasubio sector the Italians extended their occupation as far as the Piazza Valley, the head of the ravines, and Mount Pruche. "On the Posina-Astico front an artillery and infantry dotachment, whioh was attempting to approach the Italian's, was repelled. "On the Asiago Plateau the Italian artillery was very active. The best results- were obtained at Mount Cegnio and Valcanaglia. "On tho remainder of the front there have been artillery and, infantry raids. "The enemy's aeroplanes bombed various points on the Lower Isonzo. No damage was done. One machino was brought down at Meria, in South Gorizia." AIR RAIDERS OVER VENICE. (By Telegraph—Press Association—'"'epyrigbt). (Rec. June 24, 7 p.m.) Rome, Juno 24. Tho enemy's aeroplanes' bombed Venice, killing six people. ■ AUSTRIAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. (Rec. June 25, 5.5 p.m.) Amsterdam, June 24. An Austrian official communique states:—"Wo repulsed the Italians southeast nf Orzli. "The enemy's attacks on the Dolomite front failed. "Our seaplanes successfully bombed the enemy's positions near Monfalcone and Venice. There was a great conflagration at Venice, in the military establishments." (Rec. Juno 25, 11.5 jj.m.) Amsterdam, Juno 25. An Austrian official cominnninuo stales: "Our torpedo boats bombarded tho Italian coast, near Guiliouova, partially destroying a train."
